Shea has fronted his own jazz group since the beginning of his career. They move freely between traditional and modern jazz and sometimes dip into the well of funk, rock, blues  and R&B. He is a Blujazz Recording Artist and released his debut recording Arrival in 2017. His jazz quartet currently has a first Tuesday of the month residency at Trip in Santa Monica, CA. Other appearances of note include record release shows at Windmill Craftworks in Bangalore, India, An Die Musik in Baltimore, MD., the Panama Jazz Festival, Pips on La Brea in Los Angeles, CA.
